Frequently Asked Questions
This Help Section is divided into the following three sections:
General Questions, which are of interest to both buyers and sellers
Seller Questions, which are of interest primarily to sellers
Buyer Questions, which are of interest primarily to buyers
General Questions
1) I don’t see the negotiation module when I click on "fididel!" button!
You have a pop-up blocker that is turned on. It is very important to either turn off your pop up blocker or else direct the pop-up blocker to accept the Fididel site so the pop-up blocker will no longer block the negotiation module. Most web browsers have pop-up blockers. Please adjust your pop-up blocker settings (usually under found under the “Tools” portion of the browser tool bar) to make sure the pop-up blocker accepts the Fididel site.
2) Will Fididel be watching out for dishonest sellers and buyers?
Unfortunately there will always be those who will try to take advantage of any system. For this reason, Fididel will employ the latest techniques for catching dishonest buyers and sellers. We expect such people to be a very small percentage of those who do business on Fididel.
3) Why is Fididel in beta mode?
The Fididel platform is a new technology that addresses a big market niche. Since Fididel is breaking new ground we want to make sure our functionality supports the needs of our customers. We will be listening to feedback and will quickly incorporate additional capability as we release follow-on versions.
4) What payment gateways does Fididel support?
Initially we will support only PayPal. However, Fididel recognizes that there are a lot of sellers and buyers who would prefer other payment options. Fididel is working hard to release other payment gateways such as Google Checkout. Please keep a close watch for announcements about this subject.
5) What happens if my negotiation gets interrupted by a network outage or I mistakenly cancel the module?
Unfortunately, you will have to go back to the seller’s listing page, click on "fididel!", and start a new negotiation.
6) Can I free form text with the buyer or seller while in the Fididel negotiation module?
No, the only communication is through a pull down menu of comments. However, you can communicate with the seller from the seller’s listing page. You can then go to the MyFididel page to check for any responses.
7) How do I contact Fididel?
Email us at Info@fididel.com.
8) How do I refer a friend to Fididel?
Send them the Fididel.com link or click on our “Refer a friend” button!
9) What should I do if I forgot my password?
In the sign in page click on “Forgot your password?”. This will bring up the retrieve password page. Fill in the blanks with your stage name, email address that was used for registration, and PIN, then click on the "Retrieve Your Password" button. After this, Fididel will send you an email. Open the email and you can get your password.
10) I registered for a new account on Fididel but for some reason I haven’t received my confirmation email?
The email from Fididel may have gone into your junk mail folder. Please check and if this is the case you may want to enable future emails from Fididel to “be safe” so they go to your inbox.
Seller Questions
1) Can I sell products if I reside outside the United States?
During our initial roll out we will not be offering the Fididel Service to sellers outside the USA. We hope to offer our service to sellers in other major countries soon.
2) About the "You are online!" and "You are offline!" button!
When you register as a seller you will notice on the bar on top and words that say “you are offline.” This means that you not receive any negotiations. If you want to receive a negotiation you must click on the “you are offline.” This will change your status to “you are online” and now you can receive negotiations for your products.
3) How do we sellers get our inventory on Fididel?
It is very straightforward – simply email your inventory in spreadsheet form to Sales@fididel.com. We ask you to supply us with an asking price and a base price, which we call the reserve price, for each product. Fididel can then enter your inventory into our default pricing structure. If you prefer, you may request a blank inventory spreadsheet in our format by sending an email to the same email address. We will be happy to send this to you. Also, our production department can work with you if you have questions. Please include key contact information such as phone number and address/URL.
4) When will sellers be able to load their own inventory on the site?
Initially, Fididel’s production department will load a seller’s inventory. We will be releasing automation tools to allow sellers to load their own inventory in the near future. Product enhancement announcements are posted on the Fididel website and sent out in update emails.
5) What is a Fidideler?
A Fidideler is someone who negotiates for the sellers. They bargain with a buyer based on the pricing information the seller has specified for the product. Once the buyer has accepted the price, the Fidideler has just earned a commission, their role is done and they can go back to whatever online activity they were doing before. If you have an interest in becoming a Fidideler please email us at Fididelers@Fididel.com. You may also visit fidideler.fididel.com.
6) I have not received any emails from Fididel?
Email from Fididel may have gone into your junk (or spam) mail folder. Please check and if this is the case you may want to enable future emails from Fididel to “be safe” so they go to your inbox.

4) How do I find an item?
You have two choices. One is to choose the category of the item you want to purchase from the list on the left side of the buy page. Clicking on a particular category will bring up a list of items in that category. The other way is to type one or more key words that can be used to describe the item into the search keyword text box, then click the Search button. This will bring up a list of items whose names or descriptions include the word or words you entered.
5) How can I refine my search?
Just enter additional key words about the item you want to search in the Search keyword box, then click on the Search button.
6) How can I see a more detailed description of an item?
If you are interested in more details of some item, place the mouse cursor over the picture or the name of the item. The mouse cursor will change to the shape of a hand, and a brief description will appear in a small text box. You can then click on the picture or name and a new page will appear with a detailed description of the item.
7) How can I purchase an item after visiting the product listing page?
Click on the "fididel !" button under the item, and a pop-up window will appear (make sure your pop up blocker accepts the Fididel site) , this is the Real Time Negotiation (RTN) Window, which allows you to negotiate with the seller just as you would face-to-face. You can take turns with the seller making offers and counter offers, adding comments from a pull down menu if you wish. If you are willing to accept a seller’s offer, click on the Accept button and confirm the purchase. If you and the seller cannot agree on a price, you can close RTN screen and return to the previous page to shop for other items. Please keep in mind that if the seller accepts one of your offers, then you are obligated to purchase the product.
8) What is Real Time Negotiation (RTN)?
RTN is where buyers can negotiate with sellers or Fididelers just as they would face-to-face. Buyers can negotiate at any time with the seller or a Fidideler. On the right side of the RTN window, you can see a brief description of the item and the reputation of and feedback about the seller. On the left side is your primary negotiation area.
9) What should I pay attention to when negotiating in Real Time Negotiation (RTN) as a buyer?
When negotiating in RTN, you can enter the quantity you want to purchase and the price at which you want to purchase it. You can choose only bargaining sentences from the drop down frame. You can terminate a negotiation at any point before a price is agreed upon.
10) How do I pay for an item I have purchased?
Once you get a price you are willing to pay for an item click on the “Accept” button. This will take you to PayPal where you can then pay for it.
11) I paid for an item and have not yet received it. What can I do?
We recommend you first check with the seller. Often the seller’s contact information or URL appears on the listing page. There may be a back order issue, etc. If this does not lead to a resolution of the problem, then please contact our dispute resolution department at request@fididel.com. Please include the product description, date purchased and any seller information you have in your email. We also require your name, phone number and address.
Fididel cannot promise we will be able to rectify every problem. However, Fididel will check with the seller to determine the status of your order.
12) What should I do if I don’t want to purchase an item previously confirmed by me?
Once you have accepted the purchase price you have entered into a binding agreement. The payment is owed at that time.
13) How can I evaluate a seller?
Fididel keeps seller ratings. Also, many sellers transfer their ratings from other auction sites. Please keep in mind that Fididel cannot vouch for the accuracy of any ratings that are displayed on a seller listing page other than those from Fididel’s own rating system.
14) How can I get more details about the item from the seller?
